Alliance of Independent Sex Toy Testers

Alliance of Independent Sex Toy Testers

I’ve been reviewing sex toys since the latter half of 2013 – that’s about ten years now. When I first started, there weren’t a whole lot of sex toy review blogs, certainly not nearly as many as there are now! Recently, it’s become an issue that there are bloggers that we may not be able to stand behind. Enter: The Alliance of Independent Sex Toy Testers.

The Alliance of Independent Sex Toy Testers is an ever-growing shortlist of independent sex toy reviewers that you can trust. Everyone on the list can trust each other to have quality, honest reviews for their readers. Although several of these bloggers have been around as long – or longer – than I have, many of them are new, and it’s an absolute pleasure working with them. Each member votes on letting other members in – it’s essentially a democratic decision, so we’re all comfortable with each other.

THE REQUIREMENTS

  • All products recommended by the blog are body-safe.
  • All shops recommended by the blog are safe.
  • All blogs respect the diversity of gender and don’t gender sex toys as “male” or “female.”
  • All blogs are written by people who are passionate about the subjects they cover, not by people who are only trying to make money. Many of us make some money but it isn’t the main reason we write.
  • All of the writers in our alliance show honesty and authenticity in their reviews.
  • All of the writers of the blogs in our alliance can demonstrate that they genuinely own ALL the products that they review and recommend.
  • All writers are genuinely knowledgeable in their subjects. They don’t copy their content from elsewhere or “regurgitate” external content.
  • No blogs in the alliance contain discrimination, hate or material intended to shame/exclude.
  • No blogs in the alliance use questionable, unethical or uncompetitive methods to build links and advertise their website. In short — we are genuine bloggers.
  • There is a preference that the blogs have been up for at least 1 year and have at least 16 reviews published.

If you’d like to join the Alliance of Independent Sex Toy Testers, please contact sextoytesteralliance(at)gmail(dot)com. Applications to join will be submitted to an anonymous group vote open to all other members, and approval will only be granted after a majority vote in your favor. Upon acceptance, you will need to post the membership list on your blog, featuring dofollow links to all other members.

  1. This is awesome! Having an organization like this will be so helpful for people who are new to the world of toy reviews and will help set standards for quality reviews.

        1. Adam, if you’re a reviewer please contact missrubyreviews.com. We prefer the blog to have at least 16 reviews and post regularly. Ideally, the blog will be at least one year old.

  2. Love being able to know which bloggers I can trust with reviews! Gonna check the ones I haven’t heard of out!

  3. I didnt know there was an alliance, thats helpful.
Guess gotta check some out, would like to hear some honest reviews for clit pumps nowadays as Im quite a beginner there.

  4. Damn, that’s a great idea! I hope this flies and will be more common in the future! For some sites it’s often just incredibly unclear which reviews are sponsored, copied or genuinely written because they wanted to write them. This label would definitely help with that 🙂

    1. Exactly! That’s what we’re hoping to do with the alliance. There are still blogs out there that deserve to be on the list so we’re always hunting ^_^
