REVIEW: FUZE+ Step Dilators 5 Pack

First Impressions and Packaging

Recently I was diagnosed with a pelvic floor dysfunction. My pelvic floor is too tight, too toned, so I need to focus on relaxing it as much as possible. I was given some exercises and got my pelvic floor massaged by a stranger twice a week. Additionally, my urologist told me that she wanted me to use dilators. When I suggested I use texture-less dildos, she insisted on dilators. So, when I became a Come As You Are affiliate I asked if I could review a few steps of the FUZE+ Step Dilators 5 Pack with Vibe.

My urologist wanted me to have something smooth and consistent and she suggested silicone dilators. Several times a week I lay down on the bed with my legs butterfly’d off to the sides, supported by pillows, and I use the FUZE+ dilators to stretch my pelvic floor.

Each of the FUZE+ Step dilators came with their own individual packaging. Each toy came in a plastic box that displayed the toy and the mailing was discreet. I liked the simplicity of the packaging and the short descriptor on the back. The step of the toy is listed on a price tag along with the size of the toy. (For instance, Step 4 is 1/ 1/4″.)

What I loved is that CAYA sent me, along with the dilators, an informational pamphlet that guided me through the process of using dilators for my pelvic health. While my physical therapist was able to give me plenty of information, the booklet was much appreciated.

Let’s Get Physical

The FUZE+ Step Dilators increase in circumference and length very gradually. There are five steps in this set ranging from Step 1 at ½” X 3 ¼” to Step 5 which is 1 ½” X 5 ¾”. While the size difference is dramatic between the smallest and largest dilator, the gradual increase of the girth and length among the dilators is comfortable, for lack of a better term.

Make it a Vibrator!

A fun little addition to steps four and five is a bullet vibrator hole. You can easily make the dilator into a sex toy for solo or partner use. Personally, I like to insert the Tango Bullet into my dildos that have a hole for a bullet. In this case, I didn’t use it because when I do pelvic exercises I’m not supposed to have vibrators that can potentially cause my vagina to spasm.

The silicone of the FUZE+ Step Dilators is a standard silicone texture its smooth and attracts lint. I had to use a fair amount of lube in order to insert the dilators without trauma to my vagina. For further information, Materials, Care, and Keeping I give you some suggestions for lube (preview: this and this!).

Materials, Care, and Keeping

The FUZE+ are pure silicone, a body-safe material. While I think purple is an over-used color in sex toys, I was happy that some of the dilators came in blue as well as a deep purple.

In order to sanatize the FUZE+ Dilators I stuck them in the dishwasher with a collection of my other toys. However, this only works if your dishwasher has a sanitizing function. Alternatively, after washing with soap and water, you can soak the dilator(s) in a 1:10 bleach:water solution. However, because this silicone is body-safe all that needs to happen to keep the toy clean is to wash it with soap and water.

Two of these steps, Steps 4-5, have a flared base that allows these dildos to be used anally. If you’re going to volley between vaginal use and anal use — WASH THAT SHIT.

My Experience with the FUZE+ Dilators

I I pressed my foot against the base of the pelvic floor equipment, in order to keep it in place, which caused me to clench. I also tried holding it with my hand, and it strained to get loose. However, I found the type of lube I used to be key for how easy it is to stay in. Currently, I have step 4 in. I used an oil-based, cannabis lube for easy insertion and it is staying in well. (Foria – a CBD infused lube – is the bomb.) I also like The Butters Aloe X Shea Lube 8oz for use with the dilators. And, of course, Sliquid H2O, a water-based lube.

I had some fun with these dilators too. I also found that the Step 3, and certainly the Step 4 and Step 5 were perfect for pegging.

Turns out, Step 5 was quite large and required Step 4, at least, before I was able to take the larger dilator vaginally. However, Step 4 was the perfect size for me. It was a good place to start, and a good place to stop.

Stick it in your butt or a harness!

The fact that these dildos are harness-compatable (I like the Joque harness, ancient review here) because of the flared base makes this even more fun. Also, the flared base makes these dilators anal-safe. That, in my book, is always a bonus.

Final Thoughts

This was my first experience with dilators and I couldn’t be happier. Initially, for a moment I considered buying the basic ABS plastic ones, although my urologist recommended silicone. Because of how comfortable the silicone is, I’m very happy I went with the silicone ones.

I love these silicone FUZE+ dilators. I was able to lay back and relax with the dilators in. As it turns out, the FUZE+ Dilator’s flexible but shape-holding silicone is a comfortable fit for my pelvic floor. I thought that the literature included in the package CAYA sent me was a wonderful touch.
